PRESIDENT SIGNS 2005 TRANSPORTATION BILL
High Gas Prices force U.S. President to "Back Peddle".

Washington, DC

Extreme pressures from consumers forced the President, George Bush to sign the "transportation bill" which has been pending for about three decades. (The bill was signed in August but has now begun to take effect.)

In his first term Bush abolished many programs for alternate power sources, electric vehicles, etc. Being an oil man from the good state of Texas we can understand his decisions to squelch such non-profit and expensive programs as those proposed in the early 2000's.

Already, local governments in the states have hurried passage of certain laws that will influence people to buy electric cars.

California: DMV (Department of motor vehicles) said that is it ready to begin issuing stickers allowing high-mileage low-polluting hybrid electric cars in freeway carpool lanes with only a single occupant. Anyone who drives the Los Angeles freeways will tell you this is a huge allowance, many people will be influenced to buy hybrids and electric cars now.

The DMV said President Bush's signing of the transportation bill cleared the way for the agency to begin issuing permits. Federal authorization was needed because Washington sets rules for the use of interstate highways.

RUMORS SPREAD LIKE WILDEFIRE - ELECTRIC FERARRI!!!!
Don't believe all you hear on TV!

You know over the past few years we've been very selective about the news stories we post on ElectricCars.com and really when you get right down to it news is a lot like gossip...

News is supposed to be "researched", "confirmed" and "legitimate"... But, once in a while something crazy slips between the cracks. We couldn't resist passing this on to our readers.

In August, 2005 "news" spread like wildfire in the electric autmotive industry about "FERARRI MOTORS, ITALY PRODUCING A CONCEPT ELECTRIC CAR!".

This is like hearing NASA (National Aeronautical and Space, U.S.A.) planning to produce a consumer space rocket for all of us to buy to get to work!

FOR THE RECORD: After extensive phone calls and emails to our constituents (mostly over-worked, coffee adict, self medicated auto brokers) we are 100% convinced THERE IS NO ELECTRIC FERARRI on the concept board...

Well, actually, "technically" there are ELECTRIC FERARRI'S... But, we don't think these will get you noticed on Sunset Blvd...

However, there are several instances where people have converted Ferarri's, Porches, BMW's and other exotic cars to electric. If you know of any worth showing on ElectricCars.com CONTACT US.
