Electric carmaker to employ 400 at West Side plant
February 19, 2007

— A California electric carmaker has chosen Albuquerque as the site for a manufacturing plant to employ around 400 workers, Gov. Bill Richardson said this morning.

Tesla Motors of San Carlos, Calif., will break ground in April on a 150,000-square-foot plant on Albuquerque's West Side - near the recently-opened Tempur-Pedic mattress plant, Richardson announced this morning.

"Today's announcement is proof that New Mexico is a national leader when it comes to innovation, new technology and creating jobs," Richardson said in a statement. "Tesla is committed to clean energy and so is New Mexico."

By 2009, Tesla plans to roll-out a four-door, five-person sedan called "WhiteStar," producing at least 10,000 a year from the West Side plant. The car will be operated entirely by electricity and is projected to run for 250 miles per charge. Its 250 horsepower engine is capable of reaching 0-60 mph in six seconds.

WhiteStar is expected to cost $50,000 for a standard model and $65,000 for a model with greater performance and range.

The company is investing $35 million in the production facility. The jobs created in Albuquerque are projected to pay between $24,000 and $100,000 a year, plus benefits and stock options, according to a state news release.

Tesla had talked with several states, including Arizona and its home state of California, about where to locate its WhiteStar plant. Published reports out of California earlier this month indicated the company had narrowed its choices to Albuquerque and the Bay Area city of Pittsburg, Calif.

Martin Eberhard, the company's CEO and founder, today said New Mexico "was very responsive, helping us solve work force and logistical challenges."

"We wanted to be in a state that is as committed as Tesla is to developing clean energy and addressing global climate change," Elon Musk, Tesla's chairman and a a co-founder of the PayPal Internet payment site, said in a statement. "We found that leadership in New Mexico."

Richardson committed to seeking $3.5 million in capital outlay money from the current Legislature and another $3.5 million next year. The money would be given to Bernalillo County as building and infrastructure investment.

Richardson also wants state agencies to investigate buying 100 WhiteStar vehicles for the state fleet over a two-year period.

The city has pledged $600,000 for infrastructure costs. And SunCal Companies, the firm that recently purchased the 57,000-acre Westland Development property on the West Side, will provide 75 acres of land abutting the plant's site for a future expansion, the state said in a news release.

Tesla, founded in 2003, is expected to begin delivery of its first vehicle, the Tesla Roadster, this summer. The Roadster, being assembled in England, can run from 0-60 mph in four seconds and is powered by a lithium-ion battery system, the company Web site states.

ELECTRICCARS.COM STATEMENT
"State of the World" February 2007

Get Involved in the Revolutionary New Industry of Electric Vehicles

EVERY MONTH HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF NEW CARS HIT THE ROADS AND OIL REFINERIES ARE ALREADY OPERATING BEYOND PEAK PRODUCTION... Gas prices hit the highest level in July 2006, and all studies show crude oil will continue to rise until the day comes when oil consumption reaches a crisis worldwide. It's simple economics, when demand exceeds supply PRICES GO UP!

CHINA IS BECOMING A MODERN COUNTRY... The number of gas powered vehicles has DOUBLED in the past 3 years! (Over 1 million cars) Projections show that will double in 24 months now, then 12 months... DO YOU REALLY THINK WE WILL ALL BE ABLE TO AFFORD GAS IN 10 YEARS WHEN A COUPLE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE BUY MORE CARS????!!!!!

Oil companies have been making RECORD TRILLION DOLLAR PROFITS, all the while we see people starving, while the OPEC leaders live in palaces... We see people KILLING EACH OTHER because middle eastern governments brain wash their public to HATE AMERICA!!! and HATE EACH OTHER... Billions and Billions of gas dollars go to purchase guns, bombs, support hateful people who hate PEACE, FREEDOM, FREE SPEECH, RIGHTS TO CHOOSE...

All these crimes are done "in the name of religion"... But really what we're talking about is mind control... these factions with TRILLIONS of dollars (gas dollars) own the newspapers, tv channels and have combined their governments with thier churches to better influence their people! They feed a never ending stream of ANTI-FREEDOM CHANTS. If the middle east continues to dominate the economy eventually they will capture all the world's media resources and control US ALL!!!!!!

SORRY TO BRING YOU DOWN, BUT WE ALL BETTER DROP OUR STARBUCKS COFFEE FOR A MINUTE AND START THINKING ABOUT WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN IF WE DON'T END OUR "CRACK ADDICTION" TO OIL...

PEOPLE BLAME THE PRESIDENT: It costs about 40 million dollars to run for the US Presidency... Where does a canditate get that money? We can tell you without a doubt HE'S NOT GETTING IT FROM THE ELECTRIC CAR INDUSTRY... Who has that type of cash?... THE OIL COMPANIES... So, basically when you think about it the oil companies choose who will be president... Do you really think the President, whoever he will be, has the freedom to help Electric Cars? You know the industry that will cost his "keepers" billions if it ever succeeds??? No, he (or she) is gonna get in office, VETO the current clean air initiatives promised by George "show me the oil money" Bush, just like Bush did his first year in office, he VETO'd the clean air initiatives that Bill "show me the dry cleaning bill" Clinton promised... These shallow "clean air JOKE bills" have been promised by almost every president since the 1800's when people wanted electric cars to replace horses! NO PRESIDENT WILL EVER HAVE THE FREEDOM TO HELP REDUCE GAS BURNING CARS!!! It's up to YOU AND ME!!!

If you are interested in Electric Cars you will enjoy seeing the many interesting features available to members of ElectricCars.com Right now there are hundreds of small companies trying to come out with electric cars we can afford... THE BIG AUTO MANUFACTURERS WON'T DO IT... THEY ARE INFLUENCED BY THE OIL COMPANIES, STOCK HOLDERS, AND CONTROLLED BY THE ALMIGHTY BUCK!

Did you know there's an electric car that goes 300 miles on a charge (costing about $2 worth of electricity) beats a corvette in a quarter mile (0-60 MPH in 3.4 seconds) and looks like a ferrari... OF COURSE YOU DON'T, CORPORATE AMERICA IS TOO BUSY SELLING US ALL BRITTNEY SPEARS ALBUMS, 50 CENT VIDEOS, BUDWEISER, HUMMERS, VIAGRA, HOME LOANS, etc They're not going to spend millions of advertising dollars to tell us about a car that doesn't feed the profit machine!

WE'VE REJECTED 6 FIGURE OFFERS TO SELL OUR WEBSITE TO PEOPLE WHO "MIGHT BE INVOLVED WITH OIL"... Why do they want to buy it? SIMPLE, They buy everything that threatens their profits... then they throw it away... Some examples you will never know about... 90 MPG motors, new batteries that make electric cars go 500 miles on a charge, etc etc... YOU THINK WE'RE AT WAR IN IRAQ?... YOU'RE BEING INVADED EVERY TIME YOU FILL YOUR TANK!!!

LAST FALL, 2006 a great movie came out about electric cars... it got about 35 cents worth of advertising so almost nobody even heard about it... My Wife and I saw it at a theater in Reno, while this was showing (for 5 days) the Reno auto show "Hot Auguest Nights" was going on, 600,000 people came to Reno to see cars... THERE WERE ONLY ABOUT 10 PEOPLE IN THE THEATER WITH US... Down the isle, Disney's movie "Cars" played to a SOLD OUT AUDIENCE, you know that mindless cartoon that your kids begged you to go see since Disney advertised it every ten minutes on TV!... Ironic, instead of letting us know about a gas solution, Disney made millions off a movie about that made every kid in America want to go buy a gas powered car.... Hmmm, makes you wonder if Disney is influenced by the oil industry too!!!! THE MOVIE: Who killed the Electric Car? is about GM taking great electric cars, the EV-1, away from people who PAID FOR THEM, LOVED THEM, and BEGGED TO KEEP THEM... they took these cars out into the middle of the desert and smashed them... Why? GM said "because the public didn't want them and they were too expensive "... GM, simple economics, if you only make 200 Corvettes they will cost $250,000 a piece... that's why you make 100,000 and charge $35,000 each... this way "people will want them"... Duh! Now Toyota is stomping GM because they had the guts to release HYBRID ELECTRICS... Now GM is whining on the nightly news about "sales of SUV's dropping"... There sure are some real thinkers at the "Lazy G ranch"!!!!

ElectricCars.com is owned BY NORMAL GAS BILL PAYING PEOPLE LIKE YOU! We're happy to be living just being able to pay our bills, buy a couple tacos for our Wives, and live knowing we're doing something to get the word out! Our goal is to help everyone find a cheaper, cleaner, safer way to get to work and drive our kids to school... WE DONT hold protests, WE DONT complain complain complain and WE DONT hug trees... We find solutions!

Sincerely,

Just another Schmuck
