The
Triton is a hand-crafted, sophisticated, and exotic
two-person vehicle. Constructed of epoxy-bonded
composite
materials, the monocoque chassis is light but
strong, and the modular subsystems permit the
vehicle to be updated as
electric vehicle technology develops.
The Triton is part of an emerging new technology
known as Hybrid Electric Vehicles. Hybrid vehicles
use an auxiliary
power unit, known as an a.p.u. to provide extra
energy on demand for hill climbing, rapid
acceleration, and extended
range. When commuting short distances or driving
around town, pure electric operation is
automatically chosen.
Battery recharging can be accomplished by either
the A.P.U or a standard 120V or 220V outlet.
The Triton is designed as an enclosed
motorcycle, making registration/inspection and
insurance simple and economical.
Environmentally considerate, exciting to drive,
and capable of an extended service life, the Triton
bridges the gap
between present and future vehicles.
