Truck
EcoElectric, well known as part supplier for EV
enthusiasts, is now offering its first production
EV. Built in the company's new facility in Tucson,
Arizona, the truck features proven DC technology
based on the rugged Chevy S-10. Up front a 600 amp
controller feeds current through a 65 HP DC-motor
coupled to an automatic transmission. In the rear,
16 of the 20 batteries are fully enclosed in steel
containers under a tilt-up bed. The 144-volt
battery system is comprised of Trojan T-145 6-volt
batteries. Keeping the wet cells full is a central
battery watering system. Performance data not yet
